In 2016, María Castellanos and Alberto Valverde participated in The App Date Fashion, an event held at Espacio Fundación Telefónica in Madrid dedicated to exploring the relationships between fashion and technology. The event focused particularly on wearable technologies, mobile applications, virtual reality and the Internet of Things, and their integration into new devices and body-related interfaces.

Castellanos and Valverde presented Environment Dress, an artistic research project based on a body interface equipped with environmental sensors. The system records variables such as noise, temperature, atmospheric pressure, ultraviolet radiation and carbon monoxide, allowing this information to be related to the experience of the person wearing the interface. Through the project, they explored the potential of wearable technologies to expand human perceptual capacities and make perceptible aspects of the environment that cannot be directly detected by human senses.

The programme also included the presentation of Belle Allure, a virtual reality experience developed by Nexcommunity together with designer Nina Balmes of L’Arca de l’Àvia, as well as the participation of Marta Panera from Showroomprivé, who addressed the role of mobile applications and digital technologies in transforming fashion and modes of consumption.
