In 2017, María Castellanos participated in Technology and Emotions, a conference organised by Polyteknisk Forening in collaboration with NTNU ARTEC and i/o/lab, held at Sentralen in Oslo. The event brought together artists, researchers and technology professionals to explore the relationships between art, science, technology and society, as well as the role of interdisciplinary approaches in innovation processes.

Castellanos presented Clorofila 3.0, a project developed with Alberto Valverde that investigates the electrical activity of plant organisms. Using sensors and systems specifically developed for the project, the work records electrical variations produced by plants and translates them into sound in real time, exploring alternative ways of approaching and perceiving their activity.

The presentation was part of a programme examining how art and technology can contribute to generating new forms of knowledge and understanding of the relationships between humans, technological systems and the environment. Technology and Emotions combined presentations, interactive sessions and discussions with participants from the fields of art, science, research and innovation.
